Former Congress legislator faces flak

Lakhimpur, Dec 25: Former Congress MLA Gha Buragohain came under fire from the party workers in Lakhimpur district for allegedly skipping party activities ahead of Assembly polls. Party insiders said at a time Congress party workers in Lakhimpur were busy staging protests over legal battle against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, the former Lakhimpur legislator was allegedly busy in a picnic with a group of party workers on December 19. A party workers on condition of anonymity said that Buragohain has disrespected the party by skipping the protest held at Lakhimpur Rajib Bhaban. Buragohain was not available for comments despite repeated attempts. Sources close to Buragohain, however, however denied the allegations saying he could not present in the protest due to some uvoidable circumstances.
