SHILLONG, Feb 16: Former chairman of HNLC Julius Dorphang has lauded the state government’s recent appointment of two interlocutors to initiate peace talks with the banned HNLC.

The state government recently appointed two interlocutors for the peace talk process with the HNLC. “If they (HNLC) are really serious then they should immediately declare unilateral ceasefire to show that they genuinely want peace,” Dorphang told newsmen here on Tuesday.   Stating that he is delighted the HNLC are showing interest to come forward for peace talk. He however said, “I’m not saying that they should come and surrender like me but they should accept this offer for peace.”
