Former MLA Siji Jully dies, Khandu mourns demise

Itagar, May 16: Former nomited MLA of Aruchal Pradesh Siji Jully passes away this morning after prolonged illness, family sources informed. Born to Siji Tallang and Siji Modung of Maching village under Nyapin circle of  Kurung Kumey district, Siji Jully started his education career from Government Primary School Nyapin. He passed class-VIII and was nomited as ZPM from Puroik community.
In the year 1984, he was nomited to the Legislative Assembly as MLA from the Puroik Community. Jully was instrumental in re-grouping Puroik villages of Maching and Jiping and contributed largely in bringing awareness on social issues. He pioneered the importance of education amongst the puroik community.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has mourned the sad demise of Jully.
            In his condolence letter to the wife of the departed leader, Khandu wrote “with a heavy heart I write to share the grief of losing Siji Jully, a dedicated leader and a former member of Aruchal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Puroik Community.
Jully will be remembered for his zest and fight against abolishing bounded slavery and working for upliftment of the Puroik community, Khandu said. “I know this would be the most trying times for you, your family members and the Puroik community. In this moment of grief, me, my family, colleagues in the Government and people of Aruchal Pradesh extend our solidarity with you and share the pain inflicted on you by one of the greatest truths of life,” Khandu said.
            “I pray Almighty God to bestow you with strength to bear the irreparable loss. May the soul of one of the great leaders of Aruchal Pradesh rest in peace in heavenly abode. My deepest condolences” the message added further.
