Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's condition remains critical

Senior political leader and the eldest person in Bharatiya Janata Party, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is in severely critical state and is being put in life support in Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

With the news of the seniormost political leader being severely ill, several political leaders including Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Senior BJP leader LK Advani, daughter Pratibha Advani and BJP President Amit Shah have rushed to the hospital to have a look at his health status.

A statement released from AIIMS states, "Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's condition continues to be the same. He is critical and is on a life support system."

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stalwart, ageing 94 years, was admitted at the hospital on Wednesday by his close relatives. Vajpayee's niece Kanti Mishra said, "I have been praying to god that just once I can see him give a speech again. Our family can never ever erase that image of his from our minds. I hope he gets well soon."
