Former Principal of Debraj Roy College passes away

Golaghat, September 2: The former Principal of Debraj Roy College and social worker, Dr Anil Baruah passed away on Wednesday. Dr Baruah was suffering from a motor neuron disease for some days and he was under treatment in Jorhat.He was 63. Dr Baruah born in Sivasagar in 1951. He lived in DR College Tiniali with his family. After completing M.Sc. from Gauhati University, Baruah joined as a lecturer in Chemistry department in Debraj Roy College, Golaghat in 1975. He had also served as Vice-Principal of Debraj Roy College and coorditor of IGNOU centre of this college.

Dr Baruah was also associated with Consumer Protection Committee, Golaghat, and College Teachers’ Association, Golaghat district committee. He leaves behind his wife, a son, daughter and a host of relatives. His death has been widely mourned by the people of Golaghat and all the organizations of which he was a part.
