Foundation day of nursing school observed

DIGBOI, June 7: The 31st foundation day of the Assam Oil School of Nursing was observed here at the auditorium of the school located within the premises of the AOD hospital, Digboi.    

Mritunjoy Pramanik, the Executive Director of IOCL (AOD) Digboi, was the chief guest of the function while Arup Bhagawati, DGM I/C (HR) graced the function as the guest of honour.

Following the welcome address by Aparajita Phukan Barua, the Principal I/C of the school, the chief guest delivered his speech. Mritunjoy Pramanik  reiterated that Assam Oil School and Assam Oil College of Nursing  were flagship projects of Indian Oil under CSR giving free education to 60 students (30 for GNM and 30 for B. Sc course) and thereby empowering women to earn their livelihood simultaneously serving the society with their accumulated skills and qualities by being in the noblest ever profession of the world.

Meanwhile, Arup Bhagawati  stressed on dedication required during the learning process for the students to perform well so that flag of the nursing school and college could fly high.

A short entertaining cultural programme was organized by the students of AOSN to add colour to the celebration.
