Foundation stone laid

JOYSAGAR, May 1: To build a full-size statue of freedom struggle martyr and former leader of the Indian Tea Tribe and Adivasi community, Swahid Birsa Munda, a formal function was held to lay the foundation stone of construction of the statue on the bank of the historic  Sonari Pukhuri of Sonari town on Monday. On this occasion, the foundation stone was formally laid by the Charaideo Deputy Commissioner BN Phukan and the earthen lamp was lit by renowned social worker and the land donor, Samudra Prasad Baruah. Sonari Regional Sahitya Sabha and Chah Janajati Sahitya Sabha members along with local people took part in the function.
