Foundation stone of community hall laid

MANGALDAI, December 11: Mangaldai Satan Dharma Sabha, one of the oldest and highly regarded religious organizations of Darrang district, will soon have a community hall and Parliamentarian of Mangaldai HPC, Ramen Deka on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the community hall.

The parliamentarian has already sanctioned an amount of Rs 20 lakh from the MPLAD fund to construct an Assam-type community hall with all amenities. Mangaldai legislator Guru Jyoti Das, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman, eminent industrialist and Chief Secretary of Mangaldai Satan Dharma Sabha, Mukul Chandra Deka, president of Darrang district Committee of BJP, Nilima Devi, secretary Shewali Goswami Kalita, chairman of Mangaldai Municipality Board Pratap Bordoloi and a large number of senior citizens, office bearers and members of Mangaldai Satan Dharma Sabha also attended the foundation-laying function.

The family members of legendary businessman Sunda Ram Deka (SRD) earlier had constructed a well spacious double-storey community hall and Yatri Niwas at Mangaldai Satan Dharma Sabha in memory of their father.
