Foundation stone of Durga Temple laid

Bongaigaon, October 14: The foundation stone of Dolaigaon Durga Temple was laid on Friday at the Dolaigaon New Market premises in Bongaigaon.  Basanta Kumar Choudhury from the committee said that this Durga Puja was about 20 years old. “Twenty years ago some youths of this area started this Puja. This Puja has now become the unifying factor for the people of Dolaigaon. Hence, considering its importance, we plan to construct a permanent temple here by collecting dotion from people,” he said.  The foundation stone was laid by Lee Singha, president of Bongaigaon Zila Parishad where several noted persons including Hitesh Das, Principal, Bongaigaon College, Brajen Ray, ni Ram Das, both eminent social workers and many others were present.
