Foundation stone of two road overbridges laid

GUWAHATI, Dec 12: Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain laid the foundation stone of two road over bridges at Hojai and Lanka on Monday in presence of gaon MLA Rupak Sarma, Hojai MLA Shiladita Dev and Lumding MLA Sibu Mishra. With this, a long felt need and demand of people of both Hojai and Lanka have been fulfilled which will ease the traffic movement.

At present there are 2 level crossings, No. 40 and 41 faring in the railway yard at Hojai. To elimite this LC, a new 2-lane ROB will be constructed in the middle of the 2 level crossings connecting tun Bazaar and Nil Bazaar. Bow string steel girder will be used for main span of 7600 mt and approaches shall be constructed on viaduct made up of composite girder.

Likewise in Lanka, the level crossing No 45 is falling in the Railway yard of Lanka. A 2-lane ROB will be constructed on the same alignment connecting Lanka Market and tiol Highway which will ease theĀ  traffic movement. The main span will be of RDSO approved 3600 mt and approaches shall be constructed on viaduct made of composite girder. Both the bridges will be constructed by NF railway at a cost of Rs 90 crores within next 2 years. This was stated in a press release.
