Four arrested with IMFL, drugs

Itagar, May 30: Four persons were arrested by msai Police for illegally selling IMFL, possessing and consuming drugs. The arrests were made possible after a team of All Adi Students’ Union (AdiSU) with the help of police raided various grocery shops and houses in msai district and found them selling, possessing and consuming those items. Two persons were arrested in connection with selling and consuming opium and hooch while two were arrested for possessing drugs suspected to be brown sugar. One is absconding, AdiSU informed.
The raid was a part of AdiSU’s third phase of operation clean drive. Stating that drugs mece, particularly opium, has gripped entire msai district, AdiSU General Secretary Buteng Tayeng appealed to the State Government to take all necessary measures to eradicate the mece. AdiSU also appealed to provide fund for the district for de-addiction camps and other drugs awareness activities.
