JORHAT, May 17: Heavy storm and rain lashed the city of Jorhat on Wednesday night as well as on Thursday morning. Several trees were uprooted and electric posts and wires were all scattered. Hundreds of CIC roofs were blown away. Four persons were hurt when they tried to collect blown away CIC sheets near the Poojadubi area while another two received injuries when they tried to cross an uprooted tree near the Jail Road during the storm. All four were rushed to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and declared out of danger, said JMCH sources here. Moreover, following storm and rain in the city, there were power cuts for several hours and APDCL men had a hard time getting the affected areas back to normal while some areas near Dhakaipatty, Jail Road, Majgaion, Habichuck and Goromur are still in dark.
