Four injured in poll related clash

BARAMA, April 2: At least four supporters of PCDR backed independent candidate from Suklai Serfang constituency Ronen rzary were injured, when they were physically assaulted allegedly by the supporters of BPF candidate Ganesh Kachari at Oubari area under Suagpur police station in Baksa district yesterday.

According to police sources the four youths, all supporters of PCDR backed candidate were carrying out postering in the area when some goons, allegedly BPF supporters came and attacked them with sticks injuring them. The injured were first taken to ukata health centre but were later shifted to Gauhati Medical College.

The injured were identified as Ramesh Boro, Shymal Brahma, Jaten Mushahary and Juguru Mushahary.

Police today detained the sitting BTC executive member and Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) candidate from Suklai Serfang constituency Ganesh Kachari and Peoples’ Coordition Democratic Rights (PCDR) backed independent candidate Ronen rzary at Suagpur police station for questioning.
