Four militants bbed

SHILLONG, Feb 1: Police on Wednesday arrested militants belonging to two different groups in South Garo Hills district. According to police, the four militants belonging to the Garo tiol Liberation Army (GNLA) and Achik Song Anpachakgipa Kotok (ASAK) were arrested from an area in South Garo Hills, bordering Bangladesh. The police informed that three of the arrested militants were involved in the recent abductions of four civilians from Kolapara area area under Gasuapara police station in the district. Police informed that the arrests were made after police conducted a series of raids in the intervening night of January 31 and February 1 and arrested the three ASAK cadres. The arrested ASAK militants were identified as Sahid Ch Marak, Lamingstone Ch. Sangma, and Jainish R Marak. In another incident, after a tip off, police raided Gare ‘wak village in the wee hours of Wednesday and arrested one GNLA militant Herod R Marak.
