Fr. Thomas Macheril passes away

SHILLONG, June 11: The Catholic Church of Northeast India on Saturday mourned the passing away of one of its greatest theologians and canonists Rev. Fr. Thomas Macheril. Fr. Thomas Macheril was born at Omalloor, Kottayam, Kerela on May 18, 1945. He worked in various parishes of Shillong Archdiocese. He is best remembered and loved as a teacher of Canon Law and Moral Theology at Oriens Theological College and Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong. He is greatly appreciated for his practical wisdom and clarity of thought on religious and spiritual matters. His passing away has showered a pale grief in the region.
