Fraud doctor arrested

Numaligarh, April 27: An alleged fraud doctor med Rishav Hazarika alias Jageswar Hazarika was apprehended on Wednesday evening by Kamargaon police at VKNRL hospital under Golaghat district.

Police sources said that Rishav Hazarika practiced as a doctor for 7-8 years. He hacked the registration number of renowned doctor Rupam Hazarika of Dibrugarh. Today he went for an interview at Numaligarh VKNRL hospital for the post of doctor (Medicine department) and was caught by the police of Kamargaon police led by OC Drubajyoti Borah.

Police arrested him on the basis of an FIR lodged by Dr Rupam Hazarika at Khumtai police outpost under Golaghat district. Dr Rupam Hazarika filed the case on April 7 against Rishav Hazarika for using his registration number. Fortutely, Dr Rupam Hazarika got the prescription of the fraud doctor from a patient of Khumtai. The patient was undergoing treatment by Rishav Hazarika and when he got no relief, he went to Dibrugarh and co-incidentally went to Dr Rupam Hazarika. According to police, Rishav Hazarika hails from Barama of Sonitpur district. He is now under police custody and investigation in on.
