Fresher's Day organized at M C Das College

Silchar, Oct 14: Students Union of Madhab Chandra Das College, Soi recently at the College auditorium, organized Fresher’s welcome programme. The programme which was chaired by Tajamul Ali Mazumder, president of governing body and founder Principal, started at around 11am at the packed hall with the felicitation of guests. In his iugural speech Dr. Baharul Islam Laskar, Principal of the College, welcomed the newly admitted students and suggested them to use the facilities available at the College optimally for their academic development. Certificate was also distributed to the donor who doted blood on August 20 at the College.

 A cheque of Rs.10000 was handed over to Bilal Khan, alumni of the College and uncle of Jakia Begum Barbhuiya, a Higher Secondary fil year student, who untimely passed away in the month of June 2016. It was given as a token of love and consolation to the bereaved family. One-minute silence was also observed to show our love and respect to the departed soul. To encourage the students for achieving good results in the fil examitions, the Principal of the College announced a cash reward of Rs.1000 to those who will secure first division in HS and TDC Fil Examitions and Rs.5000 to the rank holders from the College fund.

 The iugural session was over at around 1.30 pm followed by a beautiful cultural programme in which a large number of students took part. The College authority expressed their satisfaction for the arrangements, congratulated the members of the Student Union for their active participation. The daylong programme was concluded at high note at around 4:30 pm and was supervised by Khaled Azam Mazumder, Head, Department of History and In-charge of Students Union. Among others who spoke on the occasion included, Sabir Ahmed Choudhury, Head, Department of English and Coorditor, IQAC, Khaled Azam Mazumder, Afsor Hussain Laskar and Dr. Abdul Matin Laskar.
