Gambling Racket Busted in Nagaon, Seven Arrested

Nagaon: In yet another achievement to the Nagaon Police, a gambling racket was busted on Sunday evening.

The police carried out a secret operation based on a tip-off and recovered a huge amount of cash and seized three cars from their possession.

At least seven people have been arrested during the raid at Nagaon’s Bahampur area.

Police also recovered gambling paraphernalia containing 55 dice, three dice sheets, three drums, and cash Rs 16,000 from their possession.

The seized cars bearing registration number AS 01DH 6940, AS 03G 5008 and AS 01AJ 9375 have been taken into police custody.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Superintendent of Police, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi said that the operation was carried out under the supervision of the police officials from Itachali Police Outpost. "We have arrested seven people in connection to the matter. Our investigation is on," said the Superintendent of Police, Nagaon.
