Ganja seized, three arrested

SARUPATHAR, July 3: The OC of Barpathar police station, Bholaram Bora and his team on Sunday intercepted a Tata Magic having registration number of Assam, arrested three persons and seized one quintal marijuana (ganja) from their possession. The vehicle was trapped near Singimari Barpathar road. The value of the ganja seized is more than Rs 6 lakh. A case has been registered at Barpathar police station in Dhansiri subdivision.

The ganja was being ferried across the State border of Dimapur in Nagaland. The arrested persons have been identified as Parbati Debi (42), Munni Sah (23) and Kapil Sah (19). Kapil is a son of Parbati Debi. According to police sources, the ganja was loaded in the Tata Magic from Sarupathar Railway Station and it was brought from Dimapur by train (Abodh Assam) to be taken to Dergaon.
