Garden competition held

 Shillong, April 7: Shillong Station Garden Competition and Flower Show 2018 was held from April 3 to April 6 . The first such competition was conducted in the year 1994 and since then it has been an annual event, a release stated.

The competition was conducted in three parts – gardens, potted plants and flower arrangements and there was an overwhelming response from all. Despite unseasol ‘Hail Storm’ the participants braved the inclement weather conditions and came to witness the show. The competition was judged by eminent horticulturist from Shillong Agri-Horticultural Society led by Vishu Singhania, Syrpai L Dkhar, RBM Umlong and F Sun. 
Potted plant competition was held on April 5 Apr and approximately 343 potted plants made entries. On
April 6 flower arrangement competition in respect of fresh and dry styles was held. The event culmited with prize distribution to the winners by Lieutent General DS Ahuja, AVSM, General Officer Commanding. This has been stated in a press release.
