General Observer holds meeting with micro observers

Dibrugarh: General Observer of the 13-Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, Giriwar Dayal Singh held a meeting with the micro observers assigned for the said constituency on Saturday.

In the meeting, the observers were informed of their duties and responsibilities. Speaking at the meeting, Singh said that the micro observers would be deployed at 162 critical polling stations under the constituency, and that these observes would play a crucial role in ensuring free and fair elections. The observers were asked to discharge various duties, including checking whether the mock polls had been conducted by the respective presiding-polling officers in presence of the polling agents before the formal voting process began on April 11, and if the presiding-polling officers had kept all the necessary documents in a proper manner.

The observers were also informed of what they were supposed to do in the event of an EVM or VVPAT facing technical glitch on the fateful day. ADC (Elections), Sushanta Kumar Dutta was also present at the meeting.
