Gha to camp in New Zealand for U-20 World Cup

Accra, April 5: Gha’s U-20 men’s tiol team, the Black Satellites, will camp in New Zealand ahead of the 2015 FIFA World Cup in the country.

The Ghaian side will limber up in New Zealand for six weeks before the start of the championship from May, 30 to June, 20, Xinhua reported. The camp will give head coach Sellas Tetteh the opportunity to select his fil 21-man squad for the 24-tion competition.

The Black Satellites, bronze medallists at the 2015 African Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal, are expected to play a four-tion tourment before travelling for the over one-month-long camp.

The mini competition is expected to feature Brazil and two other countries who have all qualified for the three-week gathering. Gha is paired in Group B alongside Argenti, Pama and Austria and will open its campaign against Austria on Saturday May 30 at the Wellington Regiol Stadium in New Zealand.

Gha is the only African side to have annexed the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy in 2009. Mali, Nigeria and Senegal are the other sides to represent Africa at this year’s U-20 World Cup. IANS
