Ghagra ME School to celebrate golden jubilee

Dhekiajuli, Dec 30: The golden jubilee of Ghagra ME School will be held with a three-day colorful  programme from January 1 to January 3.

A  celebration committee has been formed with Shiva Charan Sahu as president, Jogeswar Borah as executive president,  Pranesh Das  and  Pramesh Goutam  as assistant secretaries  and Sudhir Mandal and Pritish Chandra  Das as joint secretaries.

On January 1 in the morning there will be flag hoisting followed by tribute before the statue of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru   and in the evening   earthen lamp will be lit.  On January 2 different sports events among the school students will be held along with iuguration of the exhibition hall, different cultural programmes and friendly discussion among the alumni of the school will be held. In the evening Bishnu Rabha, Jyoti and Bhupendra  Sangeet competition  will be held.  

On January 3 a cultural procession will be brought out from the school campus which will pass through  the Dhekiajuli town. A discussion will be held and the topic ‘Mushrooming growth of private schools  in recent times and  threat to government schools’. In the evening  an open session  meet will be held and it will be presided over by retired teacher of Dhekiajuli Boys’ High School, Ramesh Chandra Borah.
