Girl seen visibly uncomfortable while Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA on Manipur tour forces her to dance with him

Guwahati: The recently leaked pictures of a Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA, who was on a study tour to Manipur has caught the attention. As seen in the picture, the MLA is featured dancing with a girl and the controversy created regarding the picture is that the girl is seen visibly uncomfortable on being held by the MLA.

RJD MLA Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav was in Manipur for his study tour and the picture was caught while the political leader was in a visit to Moreh town on India-Myanmar border. The much-condemned fact is that the legislator from Bihar has dared to hold the girl and dance with her right in broad daylight and in the presence of some other party workers.

Reportedly, there were four men in the room when this incident had happened and the girl was being held by her shoulder. This could also be perceived from the picture that she was putting efforts to remove the hands of the MLA from her shoulder.

The incident was of June 1 as Yadav and the three legislators had visited Moreh on that day. They made the tour as members of the Committee on Internal Resource and Central Assistance of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

The controversial MLA, Yadav represents Pipra (Supaul) assembly constituency and also holds the position of chairmanship of the committee. Other three legislators accompanying him were Bharatiya Janata Party's Sachin Prasad Singh, Janta Dal (U)'s Raj Kumar Rai and Rashtriya Janata Dal's Raja Pakar.

The study tour to Manipur was for taking stock of the development program being taken up under the Act East Policy of NDA government. Reportedly, the staff of the Manipur State Legislative Assembly had guided the MLAs in the tour. The girl, however, featured in the picture, was a teen.

The common people, with powers being newly vested on their hands, forget the moral values and ethics and this is not something new to be seen among the political leaders. Being the representatives of people, their duty and responsibility should be to uphold the dignity of women rather than diminishing it. Such instances of degradation of moralities of the representatives of the common people are disheartening and derogatory.
