GM and BM of APDCL suspended

GAON (HAIBORGAON), October 14: The State Power department on Friday suspended two topmost officers of APDCL, including GM of central zone and BM of Upper Assam zone, due to power supply interruption during the Chief Minister’s recent visit to gaon Batradrava Than. According to sources, during the visit power supply was interrupted for two minutes and hence Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal was upset and directed the department concerned to take up the matter seriously. On Friday, the department passed suspension order against GM Ranjit th (Central zone) and BM Lankeswar Sarma (Upper Assam zone) with immediate effect. On the other hand, soon after the suspension order of these two high-level officials, the employees’ union of APDCL demanded stay order of these two officials within two days and also demanded a fresh and neutral enquiry on the whole issue, otherwise the union would resort to other forms of protest.
