Golaghat district administration beefs up security for counting

Golaghat, May 18: Golaghat district administration is all set for the counting of polls. All necessary arrangements have been made by the administration. The EVMs are kept at the strong room located at Golaghat Commerce College premises. The counting of polls for the 95 Golaghat LAC and 96 Khumtai LAC will take place in Golaghat Commerce College where the strong room has been set up. Security measures have been beefed up near the strong room. However, the officials and other staff engaged in the counting process have faced some problems in performing their duty due to continuous rain for the past few days. On Thursday, two high-profile ministers of the Tarun Gogoi government -Ajanta Neog and Bismita Gogoi - will find out if the people have supported them or not. Ajanta Neog has contested from 95 Golaghat LAC against BJP candidate Bitupon Saikia and Bismita Gogoi has contested from Khumtai LAC against BJP- AGP alliance candidate Mril Saikia.
