Gold and cash looted

KOKRAJHAR, April 6: Unidentified persons looted gold orments worth Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10,000 in cash from a house at Gwjwnpuri in Kokrajhar town recently. According to police, the thieves broke open the house of Nirjay Brahma, a government employee. The gang broke the locks of the gate, the front door to enter the house and looted gold orments worth Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10,000 in cash. There was no one in the house when the incident took place. Kokrajhar has seen a rise in such incidents in recent times. This is the second incident of burglary in the area in the last 20 days. On March 11, unidentified persons looted gold orment worth over Rs. 3 lakh from the house of one Rubung Brahma. The residents have urged the police administration to b the miscreants and provide safety and security to the people. Police investigation is on.
