Gold smuggler bbed

IMPHAL March 23: The personnel of 24 Bn Assam Rifles posted at the Khudenigthabi check post near the intertiol bbed a gold smuggler along with told bars x valued at Rs 1.5 in the local market. The accused Rajen Moirangthem was handed over to the Customs officials along with the gold bars which weighed more than 8 kg. The bars were concealed in the fuel tank of the car which was coming from Moreh, the entrepot of India and Myanmar. On receipt of specific information the personnel thoroughly checked the car and found the hidden gold bars. Gold of Myanmar and other south east Asian countries are cheaper and entire region is flooded with the smuggled gold. The arrested smuggler is subjected to intensive interrogstion.
