Golfer Mangat, Khosla qualify for tiol fils

Chandigarh, Feb 16: Local Golfers Saurabh Singh Mangat and Vaneet Khosla claimed the two tiol fil spots available on the opening day of the 17th annual Mercedes Trophy at the Chandigarh golf club here on Thursday.

Mangat Category-A (0-17) and Vaneet Khosla Category - B (18-24) ended the day at net score of 72.8 and 74, respectively.

They will now be playing the tiol fils scheduled in Pune’s Oxford Golf Resort from 15-17 March.

Among other golfers, Sachin Dev Mehta won the Ballantine’s Long Drive Challenge on the 15th hole with a mammoth drive of 292 yards.

Three winners from the tiol fils will progress to the Mercedes Trophy world fils in Germany in September to compete against winners from all over the world. IANS
