Government committed for people's welfare: Tuki

Itagar, Jan 17: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister bam Tuki on Saturday reiterated his government’s commitment to work for the welfare of the people.

Tuki, who joined the mega vikas rally cum development meeting at Yachuli in Lower Subansiri district, said that working for welfare of the people is the only motto of his government.

He said that despite all kind of hurdles, the state government is committed and giving all out efforts to boost development on all fronts for the state, an official release said here today.

“In such a short span of time, we have emerged as one of the most progressive states in the country. Even the central government is acknowledging our progress. We need to collectively march ahead....despite our differences if any,” he said.

Calling on the people to be active partners in this journey of progress, Tuki assured full cooperation and support to the overall development of Yachuli.

Responding to a memorandum submitted by Toko Pu, Organizing Committee of the rally, Tuki regretted that despite the foundation stone laid for creation of the office of Divisiol Commissioner and DIGP (Western Zone) at Yachuli by one of his predecessors in 1999, the project could not take off. He assured that the proposal would be re-processed and his government would leave no stones to fulfil it.

Hailing the immense potential of the region, the Chief Minister admitted that it could be developed into a skill development centre, in line with his pet project of skill development and employment generation.

To another demand, Tuki requested the deputy commissioner to submit proposals for creation of a circle headquarter at Tajgi and CD Block at Yazali Zilla segment. He further assured that a B Class police station would be considered at Yachuli and Pista headquarters in consultation with the Home Minister.

To commemorate the occasion, the Chief Minister and his colleagues distributed LED colour TVs to gaon buras and buris under the Chief Minister’s Rural Information scheme.

Also present on the occasion were Home Minister Tanga Byaling, Civil Supplies Minister Tirong Aboh, Parliamentary Secretaries Punji Mara, Karya Bagang and Pani Taram besides others including government officials and gaon buras. Pradesh Congress Commitee President Padi Richo with party colleagues and representatives of frontal wings were also present in the rally.

Earlier in the day, Tuki along with his colleagues iugurated the newly built Circuit House, a 33/11 KV, 3.15 MVA switchyard sub-station, a Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the Yachuli Water Treatment Plant, office of the Additiol Deputy Commissioner and a Mini Stadium. He also laid the foundation stones for SE PWD office and SE PHED office, the release added.
