Government committed to improve education: Agriculture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai on Saturday while reiterating the state government’s commitment to improve and transform the education sector in the state, said that the government has taken various measures in this regard.

Addressing the Beena Ghose Roy Award for academic excellence ceremony at the Beena Enclave of the Anu Shiksha Seva Trust at Wakro in Lohit district, the minister informed that various measures have been taken up to ensure that text books for students reach in time in all schools and adequate subject teachers would be recruited to address the major problem of inadequate subject teachers.

Chai announced that soon an engineering college would start in Tezu, the headquarters of Lohit district, an official communiqué informed.

He also informed that various welfare measures taken up by government for people suffering from cancer and other ailments.

The minister also gave away the citation and cash award to Luna Mam, daughter of Late Manishi and Anaiso Mam, who is the best performer among APST students in the CBSE exams from the government secondary school, Wakro on the occasion.

Chai also gave away five laptops for the Apna Vidya Bhavan computer lab which were contributed by corporate leader Sushil Goenka, Virendra Singh and other donors, the communiqué added.
