Governor B D Mishra, CM Pema Khandu greet people on Indigenous Faith Day

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday extended their warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Indigenous Faith Day to be celebrated on December 1.

The governor in his message to the people said that faith and spiritual value system of various communities are their perpetual source of inspiration and guidance. “Tolerance, compassion, kindness and will to sacrifice for the common good are the manifestations of indigenous faith. It thus devolves on us to promote such occasions for the peace and well being of the people,” he said. Expressing his hope that the occasion would further strengthen the bonds of the composite culture and belief of the tribal communities, Mishra said that Faith Day inspires people to preserve and promote their ethical values and identity. “On the occasion of Indigenous Faith Day, I offer my prayers to almighty to bestow his choicest blessings on each one,” the governor said in his message.

Khandu in his message emphasized on the significance of the Indigenous Faith movement, particularly under the aegis of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP), that has successfully preserved and maintained the traditional customs and faiths of the indigenous tribes of the state in the age of rapid globalization.
