Governor directs to summon emergency NCHAC session

HAFLONG, Jan 22: Following a letter from Debojeet Thaosen, MAC N C Hills Autonomous Council on behalf of 16 members of the council of N C Hills that stated that the present Chief Executive Member of NCHAC has lost the confidence of the majority of the members of the NCHAC, Governor P.B. Acharya has directed the Chairman of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) to summon an emergent session of the Council within January 31.He also directed that the notice for the same should be issued within January 25 to the members of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council to take appropriate action in accordance with the rules and procedures enumerated in the Assam Autonomous District (Constitution of District Council Rules), 1951.
