Governor meets ACCI members

ITAGAR, Feb 6: Aruchal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa acting swiftly on the newspaper report of reduction in market activity allegedly due to President Rule called an urgent meeting of Aruchal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) on Friday.

The meeting was attended by ACCI president Techi Lala, Advisor Pradeep Kumar and other members along with DC Capital Sandeep Kumar Singh and SP Capital Devender Arya. The ACCI president clarified that the market turnover has ebbed over the last few months due to various factors and not due to imposition of President Rule, a Raj Bhawan communiqué said here today.

Rather, he pointed out that extortion mece has considerably reduced in the market owing to stringent policing in the Capital Complex area.

Kumar while appreciating the improvement in law and order in Capital Complex area situation requested the governor to post police personnel in the police beats that have been constructed across the Capital Complex area, especially in the market areas.

The governor directed the IGP, DC and SP to ensure good coordition and liaisoning with the market community so that they can carry on business without fear of any miscreants. He directed them to take swift action against anybody who harasses the market community by way of extortion or intimidation.

Capital DC Sandeep Kumar Singh has asked the business community to meet him and give him list of people who harass them habitually so that action could be taken under various sections of the law, the communiqué added.
