FROM A CORRESPONDENT

Golaghat, June 23:  Governor of Assam, PB Acharya on Thursday visited Golaghat district and held discussions with various organizations.

But BJP leader and MLA of Khumtai, Mril Saikia alleged that in the meeting Congress leaders were given more importance which was a matter of great concern. The Governor is on a two-day visit to the district.

An interactive meeting of the Governor was to be held on Thursday with various organizations and leading citizens but it was alleged that the Golaghat district administration played a mysterious role and invited only a few citizens to the meeting. Most of the invitees were from the Congress and no other political figure was to be seen there.  Mril Saikia also added that the people of Khumtai constituency had complained against two ADCs Nur Hussain and Soram Khanikar to be involved in many anomalies and hence he would raise this matter before the Chief Minister.
