Governor seeks funds for police

Itagar, April 6: Aruchal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma on Sunday requested Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju to sanction adequate fund and aid to enhance professiolism amongst the police personnel and including enhancing security infrastructure, proper magement of constabulary and training in the state. The Governor made this appeal when Rijiju called on him at Raj Bhawan here, an official communiqué said here on Monday. They discussed on police modernization, border areas and inter-state boundaries in the state. Referring to the recent unfortute incident in Tirap district in which three army personnel lost their lives, the Governor emphasized on better coordition and synergy amongst the security agencies. Stressing on developing mechanism for up-gradation of intelligence gathering and sharing, the governor called upon the union minister for strengthening existing mechanism.
