Governor to attend chintan baithak of Seemanta Cheta Mancha

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 5: Akhil Bharatiya Seema Chintan Baithak of the workers of Seemanta Cheta Mancha, working in the Indo-Bhutan intertiol border area, will be held in Kokrajhar with a two-day programme on February 8 and February 9.

Hosted by Seemanta Cheta Mancha: Purvottar Assam, and with active support from the BTC administration, representatives from the four States bordering Bhutan, including all the four districts of BTC, will participate in the convention. Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit will attend the iugural function as chief guest along with BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary as guest of honour while Ullash Kulkarni, Khetriya Pracharak, RSS will be the appointed speaker.

On the concluding day, State Minister Ranjit Dutta, BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary and MLA Chandan Brahma will grace the programme. tiol convener of Seemanta Chet Mancha, Gopal Krish and coorditor Pradeepan and Murli will also participate in the programme.

Talking to media persons at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday, the Mancha president Dr. Kamala Kanta Saharia said the Seemanta Cheta Mancha: Purvottar, Assam has been working on three major guiding objectives – helping in protecting the intertiol borders, making general people aware of issues related to intertiol borders and assisting in implementing all development programmes in such areas. He said the Seemanta Cheta Mancha believed that the intertiol borders were assets for both the countries so that they could harmoniously and amicably march together in the path of progress. He said the chintan baithak had been organized to establish a sustaible platform founded on values of brotherhood, understanding, peace, tiolism and patriotism.

India shares 699 km border with Bhutan, of which 267 km is with Assam, 217 km with Aruchal Pradesh, 183 with West Bengal and 32 km with Sikkim.
