GPEMx organized in Sonitpur district

Tezpur, Feb 8: Assam Disaster Magement Authority (ASDMA), in collaboration with District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA), Sonitpur, organized a day-long programme in each 92 GP-level selected periphery school in Sonitpur district on Thursday. The programme was started with prabhat pheri, a rally by schools students and teachers for making a mass awareness along with public meeting and mock drill exercises.

 In Tezpur Circle, the Lutheran High School GPEMx (Gaon Panchayat Emergency Magement Exercise) was iugurated by Additiol Deputy Commissioner bajyoti Ojha, in presence Dr. AK Singha, SSB Assistant Commandant, Pankaj Chamuah, Circle Officer, Li Baishya the Headmaster of the High School, Goan Panchayat members, staff of Lutheran High School, SDRF, SSB, PHE, Fire and Safety, Civil Defence and veteriry department. The highlight of the programme was the mass awareness and safety and security during the disaster occurrence. The mock drill on first aid and safety tips on earthquake and flood was discussed elaborately and each department revealed their responsibility during the time of emergency.  The meeting was also attended by teachers, students, local villagers, NGOs, government officials, staff and other stakeholders.
