Grede found at Khanikar tea estate in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, Feb 20: Dibrugarh Police, acting on input provided by bbed ULFA (I) cadre Anuj Konwar alias Konwar Asom, conducted a raid on Sunday night at Khanikar tea estate and recovered a high-power grede from a specified place, saving the area from large-scale disaster. 

ULFA (I) cadre Konwar Asom was arrested by police from Tingkhong on charges of IED explosion at South Jalangar during hoisting of the tiol tri-colour on the occasion of Independence Day at Chowkidinghee playground, hardly 300 metres away from the explosion site.

Police are in search of two other accomplices who had helped Konwar in hiding the grede in Khanikar Tea Estate.

Meanwhile, reliable sources claimed that ULFA (I) cadres were fatically trying to sneak into Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts in order to create law-and-order situation and large-scale extortion in the two districts, but due to strict vigil of security forces, the situation is still under domain of the security forces.
