Guwahati in driver seat

GUWAHATI, April 3: Guwahati took full control in the fil of the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket Tourment (elite group) against gaon held at the Barsapara cricket stadium here today. The host, who earned 153 runs first innings lead, are 27-1 in the second innings at stumps on day II.

If the first day was domited by middle order batsman Gokul Sarma than the second day was obviously his teammate Chakya Sarma. The bowler took 6-37 to restrict gaon's first innings to 147. Except Raj Borah (61, 69 balls, 4X4, 6X5) no other batsmen of gaon were able to stay on the wicket for a long period.

Guwahati got the opportunity to bat 8 overs in the second innings before the day's play called off due to bad light. The side scored 27 runs for the loss of opener Rishav Das wicket. Rishav, who scored half century in the first innings, today added 13 runs before got out. Rahul Hazarika and Pritam Debth remained not out 7 and 2 respectively.

Earlier Guwahati, who started from their overnight score 294-9, were bowled out 300. Gokul Sarma (112), who was the last victim of gaon, added three runs with his overnight score.
