All round show from Riyan Parag, Abir shines with ball

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: A superb all round performance from Riyan Parag guided Guwahati to lift JK Barooah Inter district Cricket title defeating Barpeta in the fil by an innings and 53 runs at Barpeta today. Riyan, who bagged seven wickets in the game and also scored 148 in the first innings, bagged man of the match and best batsman of the fil award. In reply to Barpeta’s first innings total of 122, Guwahati scored 321 in their first innings. Apart from Riyan (148, 99B, 4x12, 6x10) Sunu Kumar (47) and Saahil Jain (40) also contributed with the bat for Guwahati while Bikiran Das (5-101) came out with best bowling performance for Barpeta. Later two good spells from Abir Chakraborty (5-79) and Riyan Parag (3-35) restricted Barpeta to 146 in their second innings and ensured huge victory for Guwahati in the fil. Manoj Pathak (66, 49B, 4X9, 6X3) was the major contributor for the local outfit. Abir Chakraborty (9-123) of winning team received best bowler award of the fil.
