Guwahati Refinery Holds Security Week

GUWAHATI: Security Week was inaugurated at Guwahati Refinery on December 13 through a pledge-taking ceremony organised at the administrative building lawn area. Jogen Barpujari, Executive Director (Guwahati Refinery), administered the security pledge to the employees of the Refinery, the CISF personnel, the AISF personnel and the Home Guards towards protection of the Refinery and its assets from any voluntary subversive impacts.

While offering his homage to the brave-hearts on behalf of Guwahati Refinery, Barpujari said that the Refinery is positioned in a highly sensitive zone in terms of safety and security, and therefore, along with the security forces deployed here, the employees and contractual workers play a very important role to ensure its security by remaining constantly vigilant and alert. He further appreciated the successful efforts of the security personnel in maintaining a safe and secure working environment in and around Guwahati Refinery, and also the employees of the Refinery for contributing significantly to the same. He also appealed everyone to participate in the various programmes to be organized during the week in order to further generate awareness. At the programme, messages from the Chairman and the Advisor (Security) were read out to the gathering by SP Baruah, CGM (TS& HSE), and NK Chakraborty, CGM (T), respectively. Later, modern arms and ammunition and other security gadgets were displayed during the ceremony. CISF’s sniffer dogs displayed a live explosive detection drill during the programme.
