Guwahati to host Federation Cup fil

GUWAHATI, May 8: All India Football Federation allotted the fil of the Federation cup to Guwahati. The match will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai under the flood light on May 21.

The fil was supposed to be held in Srigar but because of ‘poor dressing room and security reason’, All India Football Federation was forced to change the venue. Although later Federation planned to organize the fil in Imphal but that plan too not materializes because of non availability of the flood light. Later the game was allotted to Guwahati.

Talking to The Sentinel the secretary of the Assam Football Association Ankur Dutta today admitted that Guwahati will host the fil of the Federation cup. “The Federation has allotted the game to Guwahati and it will be held on May 21,” said Dutta. It may be mentioned here that apart from the fil of the Federation cup, Guwahati will organize two more matches of the AFC cup this month along with India vs Laos Asian cup qualifiers in June.
