HAD Minister inaugurates Circuit House at Maibang

Haflong, June 10: With the inauguration of the newly-renovated Circuit House by Hills Area Development Department Minister Sum Ronghang, a long-cherished dream of the people of Maibang was fulfilled on Sunday. The minister is on a three-day visit to Dima Hasao for Disha Pragaman (progressing towards development) on the occasion of two years of achievement and development activities in Dima Hasao district under the leadership of Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council. In this connection, a well-attended meeting was also held at the rooftop of the Maibang Circuit House wherein minister Ronghang was the chief guest. The meeting was attended by CEM of NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, chairperson Ranu Langthasa, MLA BB Hagjer and EMs.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Ronghang, while appreciating the developmental activities of NCHAC under the leadership of Debolal Gorlosa, appealed to the people of Dima Hasao to extend their support to the NCHAC. He also assured that the BJP-ruled State Government led by Chief Minister Sarbnanda Sonowal was committed for the all-round development of both the hills district. He further said previous government was not at all willing for the development of the hills districts of Assam. He requested EMs of NCHAC and all the officials to submit schemes to HAD so that he could demand fund under the provision 275 (1).

NCHAC CEM Gorlosa said his government would never discriminate in distributing schemes and programmes among the people of Dima Hasao belonging to different tribes and non-tribes. Admitting the salary problem of the council, he said he had been trying his best to solve the problem which was not created by his government. During his tenure of two years, despite various constrains he had tried hard for the development of the district and had become successful in some projects with the active support of each and every member of his executive committee. Earlier, minister Ronghang and all the guests were felicitated with risa by the CEM and EMs.
