Haflong-Silchar road communication spped, vehicles stranded

Haflong, Oct 31: The road communication between Haflong-Silchar was totally disrupted due to a truck which was stranded on NH-54 E near Kapurchera village on Sunday night, along with landslide caused by incessant rain for two days.

Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded for days following road block as a truck was stranded near Kapurchera. But the authorities concerned remained silent for reasons best known to them. People of Dima Hasao alleged that the nobody paid any attention to the recurring plight of the people in terms of road communication. They also alleged that the restoration work was yet to start. Neither the NHAI nor the administration seemed to be concerned about the plight of the people of Dima Hasao in particular and of the entire Barak Valley and other States like Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur, they alleged.
