Hagrama lays foundation stone for railway overbridge

Kokrajhar, May 9: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for construction of Railway Over Bridge (ROB) at the intersection of Kashikotra-Basugaon-Talguri PWD road and FR Railway Tracks under State Central Share at Basugaon town. As per the project, the estimated amount is Rs. 6147.37 lakh and will be of 648.50 metre length and 8.50 metre width with carriageway and service road. In this connection, a public meeting was also held at Basugaon Durga Mandir Complex under the presidentship of BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgayari.

In the meeting, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said that construction of roads, bridges and school buildings were the priority of their government. The Basugaon flyover was considered very important, he added. Stressing the need to have more developed connectivity in BTC area, he said that completing this project would bring about a sea change in the development scenario of Basugaon area. Stating the importance of railway over bridge at Basugaon, State WPT&BC and Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma lauded the role of the State government in sanctioning such an important scheme. He further assured of doing more developmental works in Basugaon area in the times to come. He urged the people to keep a close watch over the construction work for smooth and timely completion of the scheme. The meeting was also attended by former BTC Speaker Paniram Brahma, former EM James Basumatary and BPF women wing leader Supriya Brahma.
