Hailstorm lashes Langchithing

KHERONI, May 25: Heavy hailstorm and strong winds lashed the Langchithing area in west Karbi Anglong recently.  Roofs of several houses were blown away while trees and electric poles were uprooted. Even the tin roofs of Langchithing LP School at Langchithing were blown away by the strong wind. Later the CI sheets of the school roof were found several meters away from the building. Many houses were damaged and villagers said that property worth lakhs had been destroyed. Power connection in the entire area is yet to be restored.
