Haj pilgrims felicitated

Dibrugarh, July 22: With the objective of felicitating the Haj pilgrims of the district for the ensuing year’s sacred Haj pilgrimage, a meeting was organized under the endeavor of the district administration here at the DC office conference hall on Friday. Additiol Commissioner Sanjay Dutta, while presiding over the meeting, said that Haj pilgrimage was a religious tradition for people belonging to the Muslim community. The ADC, praying for a safe and sound journey of the Haj pilgrims, appealed to one and all to pray at Madi for a peaceful environment in the State. Dutta also wished for the good health of the Haj pilgrims.
 The Haj pilgrims expressed their gratitude to the district administration for organizing a felicitation programme for them. They informed about the benefits and assistance provided to the pilgrims by the Central, State and District Haj Committees and said that the two-day training camp helped them a lot. In the said meeting, a total number of 49 Haj pilgrims from the district were felicitated with phulam gamosa. The meeting amongst others was  attended by Additiol Commissioner Rubh Ramsiary ; Joint Secretary of Dibrugarh District Haj Committee, Saukat Latif ; and from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH)  Dr. Sajid Ahmed and Dr Farza Zahir.
