Hajam's murder: 16 bbed in Fulertal

SILCHAR, Nov 17: A team led by Bhupen Bora, offiicer-in-charge of Lakhipur PS, and personnel of 140 Bn Fulertal bbed 16 accused in connection with the brutal murder of Ujjawal Hajam, from Fulertal market and Barak bridge area today. Later, they were produced in court which sent them to judicial custody for further interrogation. Sources said that some of the main accused with the murder are yet to be bbed. The security forces are conducting investigations to catch them. As reported earlier in The Sentinel, on November 12, tea garden residents brutally attacked Hajam (29) with sharp weapons in Dilkhush tea garden. The angry mob accused him of indulging in sorcery and black magic. They also held him responsible for a number of deaths in the area. On being informed, a team led by Anjan Pandit, SDPO Lakhipur, and Bhupen Bora, officer-in-charge along with a team of CRPF personnel of 140 Bn rushed to the spot and recovered him.
