Dibrugarh: Former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr. Nagen Saikia on Monday formally released a handbook on beauty and healthcare titled Sarir Sondarjya Charchar Hatputhi, written and published by beautician and the owner of Beaushine, Naliapool, Bobby Kalita Dutta, amidst the presence of the Principal of MDK Girls’ College, Dr. Dilip Bhuyan, and noted poet and Assamese writer and Professor of Dibrugarh University, Prof. Karabi Deka Hazarika.

In the meeting, around 18 trainees who completed their six-month diploma course conducted by Ayurvedic training centre Khalihamari, received their certificates. After releasing the book, in his address, Dr Saikia said that beauty was a latent desire among all humans. Everyone liked the concept of beauty. The base of the culture of humanity was a sense of beauty as well as a conscience of beauty, he said. Saikia added that the topic the writer chose for the book had not been covered by any Assamese writer before, and as such, was very welcoming.

Dilip Bhuyan in his speech said that the State had always been blessed with the miracle of Ayurveda, and that the commercial beauty products were only a modern phenomenon. He, however, maintained that people had become more conscious about their health and resultantly, the concept of healthcare had grown into many specializations.

Later, Bobby Kalita Dutta told the press that there was no Assamese book on the subject. She said that therefore, she felt the need to write on the topic in a simple language. She hoped that the book would benefit all the beauty conscious people, as well as aspiring beauticians. Journalist Jadav Gogoi also spoke on the occasion.
